BiEnergy - main features

The BiEnergy concept is a holistic approach for a sustainable bio energy cycle, which is also capturing greenhouse gases from the biggest polluter in the world…...farm animals!

Hovedelementer fra BiEnergy konseptet:

Manure treatment prior to transport to bio gas plant
  • The fluids are separated from the solids (8-10% solids), purified and disposed of to e.g. irrigation
  • Transport of energy packed manure solids reduced to 1/10
Methane production
  • Water and other organic compounds are added.
Production of electricity (ThermoConverter)
  • Electricity is produced with up to 70 % efficiency (compared to 30-40 % for existing technologies) and lower maintenance cost
  • Consequently, twice as much electricy is produced per unit CO2 emission
Waste treatment from bio gas production
  • Fluids and solids are separated
  • Solids are enriched and used as fertilizer
  • Fluids are used to grow bio mass
Produciton of bio mass
  • Algaes and water plants are grown in the fluids from the bio gas plant, with supply of waste heat and CO2 (for photosynthesis - developed in cooperation with the University of Ås) from the production of electricity
  • Bio mass used for
    • Bio diesel
    • Animal fodder
    • Re-used for methane production in bio gas plant
  • Waste water is used for irrigation
